The candidates start their PhD projects in a so-called NanoFar Home Institute in a country that is not the country in which they acquired their Master's degree during the 12 months prior to training.

According to the calendar of a PhD candidate curriculum, a mobility period of 1 year is planned in the so-called NanoFar Host institute. The mobility period should be adapted to the PhD Project and be flexible in time and periods with an average of 12 months. It must be discussed between supervisor and co-supervisor at the beginning of the curriculum.

Basically, the curriculum will be carried out as follows :

  • 24 months at home institution - including a kick-off meeting and 2 summer schools
  • A 12-month mobility period at host institute (co-supervisor laboratory) - including 1 summer school
